Kelp is a brown algae that is rich in iodine and other vitamins and minerals including calcium, magnesium, potassium, niacin, riboflavin, and choline. It also contains Algin which has been used to help pull out intestinal toxins and heavy metals. Iodine can help energy levels, iodine deficiency, reduce fatigue, mental sluggishness, and aid in weight management. Sufficient iodine levels are required for proper fat and cholesterol metabolism. It may even help with atherosclerosis. It is also good for hair, skin, and nails. Iodine is required for the production of thyroid hormone that regulates metabolic energy.
